Our core curriculum encompasses the following areas:
These activities help each child sort out the many and varied impressions given by the senses such as color, weight, shape, texture, size, sound, smell, taste and vision.
Cultivating reading and writing skills through language development, dramatic activities, and reading readiness programs helps each child build a stronger vocabulary, in order to communicate ideas and feelings. The reading lab is available for students in grades 1 - 3.
These are the first skills children are introduced to in the Montessori environment. These activities assist them in developing responsibility, a strong sense of self-worth and self-sufficiency by teaching them to care for themselves and the environment.
Mathematics and Numerical Skills
A number of age-appropriate Montessori materials are used to help the child move from simple math problems to geometric concepts. Math activities may begin with lessons that teach sequence recognition and counting. It continues with the process of operations, such as addition, multiplication, subtraction and division.
Geography, Science, and Cultural Activities
These studies help launch the child’s exploration of the physical environment. Each child’s knowledge of the world is expanded by learning about the people of the world, their unique culture and varied customs.
